A seventh generation Arkansan, Aaron attended Ouachita Baptist University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Political Science and Mass Communications. While attending Ouachita, Aaron met and eventually married his wife, Karen Wood Black.
Starting as an intern during college, Aaron worked for the Office of the Governor during the administration of Mike Huckabee. He served on Governor Huckabee's staff for nearly nine years with his final position being the Governor's Budget Director. His most enjoyed role, however, was the lead singer for the Governor's band, Capitol Offense.
Concurrently, Aaron attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and earned his Masters in Public Administration, after which he attended the William H. Bowen School of Law where he attained his Juris Doctor.
Over the years, Aaron and Karen have developed businesses in the areas of natural gas development and property development. Most recently, Aaron has been the operating owner of their restaurant business, which they sold in 2017.
Aaron has previously been a member of the Pulaski County CALL Advisory Board and currently serves as chair for the South Side Alumni Scholarship Board. Aaron and Karen live just outside the Little Rock city limits with their three children, Ella Ruth, Emily, and Zack. The family attends Fellowship Bible Church in West Little Rock.
Aaron has acquired his Series 65 license and is able to offer financial advising for a flat fee.
